Busy & Exciting Times at Thompson Insurances
Founded in 1982, Thompson Insurances, through a policy of planned expansion which included the purchase of the businesses of Humphrey Insurance and Dudley Fisher, has grown both its client base and the range of expertise it can offer. In addition, with the formation in 1999 of Thompson Life and Pensions the Company now offers its clients a dedicated Financial Services capability.
Client retention, client focus and attracting new clients are core to the company’s development strategy. With this in mind Thompson’s have recently hosted a client seminar with Development and Training Guru Dermot McConkey, are launching their all new website and appointing a Business Development team.
Dermot was guest speaker at the above mentioned seminar hosted by Thompson Insurances and held in the RDS, Dublin. The seminar was attended by over 100 business clients of Thompsons. The seminar was entitled “From Recession to Progression”. Dermot pointed out that 2008 would be a tough year as the prospect of recession hits home. However, he noted that companies looking to grow and develop in difficult times “don’t take part in the recession. There too busy!” dealing with current clients and selling to new clients.
In relation to customer care Dermot notes the aim for each company should be to meet customer needs, know their products and services intimately, solve customer problems without delay, welcome complaints and build relationships. Essentially, showing a customer you really want and appreciate their business.
He gave a very positive outlook for the future for companies who are prepared to invest in their staff, IT and most importantly keeping their customers happy. “If things do not change they are sure to remain the same”.
Thompson Insurances recently launched their new website www.nti.ie. The website focuses on Thompson Insurances difference, “independent advice, big broker expertise and local broker service”. Clients can access direct contact details for specific members of staff to ensure fast and effective service. The easy to navigate site offers a host of information in relation to Thompsons product offerings for both its General and Life companies.
Thompsons recently partnered with ACE insurance to provide an online solution for their customers travel insurance needs. Clients can place short-term or annual multi-trip policies at the click of a button with the option to include Winter Sports cover. Not only does this pass on real savings to the customer but it drives efficiencies within the company.
Business Development is to the forefront at Thompson Insurances. With this in mind Thompson’s are pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Dolan and Shane Hennelly BSS (Hons) to their Business Development team. Jim and Shane bring a mix of experience and energy to their new portfolio. While much of their focus and responsibility is on new business creation their remit also covers customer retention and loyalty. There attitude towards new customers will be based on gaining trust and building relationships through excellent service.
